Description

The APP Supercritical Fluid Digital Pumping System (SFDPS) provides accurate pressure generation and control up to 3000 PSI (pneumatic system). The SFDPS is an open system that allows a liquid, typically liquid CO2, to pass through a sample at a user-defined pressure, thereby extracting a desired component. The sample is held in a chamber connected to the SFDPS. We can custom design and provide this chamber to form the complete Supercritical Fluid Extraction System. Alternatively, the chamber can be obtained elsewhere and fitted to the SFDPS.

Software

Easy-to-use, user-friendly SFDPS software runs with Windows '98 and higher and controls the SFDPS. This software allows user-defined multiple target pressures, holding times, and pressurization rates. The software shows a real-time graphical display of pressure versus time. Upon termination of the pressurization process, data such as pressure, corresponding time, and flow rate can be downloaded for further analysis. Advanced Pressure Products also has the capability to customize the software to produce reports and data required for a specific application.

Hardware: Pneumatic System (Applications up to 3,000 PSI)

The Supercritical Digital Pumping System - Pneumatic System comprises a motorized pressure generator with high-capacity pump, high accuracy pressure transducers, high pressure motorized valves, and a pressure controller. The DC motor driven piston pressure generator produces up to 3000 PSI output. A highly accurate pressure transducer monitors system pressure and provides feedback.

The SFDPS - Pneumatic System has two control modes: multi-target pressure control and pressurization rate control. (Control algorithms are based on PID control.) Multi-target pressure control allows the operator to reach the targeted pressure quickly and smoothly, while minimizing overshoot. Additionally, multi-target control holds the designated pressure for a specified length of time. The pressurization rate control provides operator control of the pressurization rate at which the target is approached.
